Guardians of the Hidden Shrine: A Profile of the Mangaladevi Kshetra Charitable Trust

The Sree Mangaladevi Kshetra Charitable Trust is a devotee-led organization dedicated to the service, preservation, and spiritual upliftment of the ancient Mangaladevi Kannagi Temple. Located deep within the Periyar Tiger Reserve on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, this temple is one of South India’s most significant yet restricted spiritual sites.

Unlike typical temple trusts that manage daily operations, this Trust operates in a unique, high-stakes environment where environmental regulations, state border disputes, and ancient tradition collide.

The Cheramar caste community, the formation of the identity of the Cheramar caste, and the well-organized gathering of the Cheramars, who are Kshatriya Hindus, should take place here. Only if they take refuge in the ancestral deity of the Cheramar caste, Mangaladevi Amma, and bow down to their own God, can the Cheramar people rise and grow. Forgetting their own God and seeking the gods of other castes has become the cause of the destruction of this people in terms of society.

The Cheramar caste people, the descendants of the Chera dynasty, should not become a society that marginalizes itself by taking on the caste and sub-caste created by the four castes without understanding their own identity, race, and caste. By singing and praising Mangaladevi Amma, the family deity enshrined by Cheran Chenguttuvan, and taking refuge in her, the entire Chera community was organized in the name of Sri Mangaladevi Amma in the Mangaladevi Kshatriya Cheramar Sabha [MKCS] to achieve the progress, growth and prosperity of the Chera people and to make the Chera community a well-organized community.

Mangaladevi Kshetra Charitable Trust and MKCS will work together for the upliftment and advancement of the Chera community to resolve the social, cultural, economic and spiritual marginalization in this community. Let us unite and pray to Sri Mangaladevi Amma to become a collective force for the upliftment and growth of the community and to become a well-organized community in the society.

ചേരമർ വംശ ജാതിയുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെയും ചേരമർ ജാതിയുടെ സ്വത്വ രൂപീകരണവും ക്ഷത്രിയ ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ ആയ ചേരമരുടെ സുസംഘടിതമായ ഒത്തുചേരലുമാണ് ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടത്. ഒരുമയോടെ ചേരമർ വംശത്തിന്‍റെ കുലദൈവമായ മംഗളാദേവി അമ്മയേ അഭയം പ്രാപിച്ചു സ്വന്തം ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽ സാഷ്ടാങ്കം പ്രണമിച്ചെങ്കിൽ മാത്രമേ ചേരമർ ജനതയുടെ ഉയർച്ചയും വളർച്ചയും ഉണ്ടാകുകയുള്ള . സ്വന്തം ദൈവത്തെ മറന്നു മറ്റു ജാതിക്കാരുടെ ദൈവങ്ങളെ തേടി പോയതാണ് ഈ ജനത്തിനു സാമൂഹിക നിലയിൽ നാശം സംഭവിക്കാൻ കാരണമായി തീർന്നത്. സ്വന്തം സ്വത്വവും , വംശവും , ജാതിയും മനസിലാക്കാതെ ചാതുർ വർണ്യക്കാർ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ജാതിയും ഉപജാതിയും തലയിലേറ്റി സ്വയം പാർശ്വ വൽക്കരിക്ക പെടുന്ന സമൂഹമായി മാറേണ്ടവനല്ല ചേരരാജവംശ പിൻഗാമികളായ ചേരമർ ജാതിക്കാർ.

ചേരൻ ചെങ്കുട്ടുവൻ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചുനൽകിയ സ്വന്തം കുല ദൈവമായ മംഗളാദേവിയമ്മയെ പാടി സ്തുതിച്ചു അമ്മയിൽ അഭയം പ്രാപിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു ചേര വംശ ജനതയുടെ പുരോഗതിയും വളർച്ചയും സമ്പന്നതയും നേടിയെടുക്കുന്നതിനും ചേരമർ സമുദായം ഒരു സുസംഘടിത സമുതായമായി തീരുന്നതിനും ശ്രീ മംഗളാദേവിയമ്മയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ മംഗളാദേവി ക്ഷത്രിയ ചേരമർ സഭ [MKCS ] എന്ന സമുദായ സഭയിൽ ചേരമർ വംശ സമുദായത്തെ മുഴുവൻ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. ഈ സമൂഹത്തിsâ സാമൂഹികവും സാംസ്കാരികവും സാമ്പത്തികവും ആത്മീയവും ആയ പാർശ്വ വത്കരണത്തിനു തീർപ്പുണ്ടാക്കുന്നതിനു ചേരമർ സമൂഹത്തിsâ ഉയർച്ചക്കും ഉന്നതിക്കും വേണ്ടി മംഗളാദേവി ക്ഷേത്ര ചാരിറ്റബിൾ ട്രൂസ്റ്റും MKCSഉം ഒന്നായി നിന്ന് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതാണ്. സമുദായത്തിsയും സമൂഹത്തിsâയും ഉയർച്ചക്കും വളർച്ചക്കും വേണ്ടി ഒത്തൊരുമിച്ചു സംഘ ശക്തിയായി തീരുന്നതിനു ശ്രീ മംഗള ദേവി അമ്മയെ തൊഴുതു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു സമൂഹത്തിൽ ഒരു സുസംഘടിത സമുദായമായി നമുക്ക് രൂപം പ്രാപിക്കാം.
